Overview
MCDNS is a custom software development company based in Philadelphia. We design and build software around the way your business already works, whether that is a first website, a customer portal or a full web application. One team handles planning, design, engineering and support, so you are not passing work between vendors.
Custom software makes sense when off-the-shelf tools start to hold you back. Maybe your team copies data between systems, your website no longer reflects the business, or you have a product idea that needs a first version. We start by understanding the problem, agree on a fixed list of deliverables, and build in short rounds so you see progress and can give feedback along the way.
When the work is ready, we test it, launch it and hand it over to your team. If you want ongoing help, we maintain what we build and keep improving it as your business grows.

Frequently asked questions
How long does a custom software project take?
It depends on the scope: how many features you need, which systems the software has to connect to, and how quickly decisions and feedback come back. We set the timeline in the Plan step, once the list of deliverables is fixed. During the build you see progress in short rounds, so you always know where the project stands.
Do I own the code when the project is done?
Code ownership and licensing are written into your project agreement before any work starts, so there are no surprises at handover. Ask about it on your first call and we will walk you through the terms.
Can you work with our existing systems?
In many cases, yes. Projects often connect to tools a business already uses, such as a CRM, a payment provider or accounting software. Whether a connection is practical depends on what each system allows, for example whether it offers an API, so we check that during the Discover step before we commit to a plan.
